Kleine (Tjeppe) actually came into my life quite by accident.. it was supposed to be exactly like that.. Kleine is a half brother of Nyssa's puppies! Kleine's story is a long one, but fortunately one in which an unfortunate beginning has had a happy ending. I knew that Mo would mate with Nyssa a week after the mating and very coincidentally I came into contact with the owner of the Night and we chat every now and then during the pregnancy of our bitches and comparing that is always nice! On a Tuesday, a week and a half after the birth of my puppies, the time had finally come and Night's temperature dropped, a sign that labor would start and that there should be puppies 24 hours later.. But unfortunately this was not the case already Night was clearly busy giving birth.. Digging shivering panting all signs but just as they had come it suddenly stopped again for a while to start again later.. finally Friday 17 April 2020 (on nyssa's birthday) there were 2 puppies born! Two brothers, one of whom was very small and unfortunately still born .. the other was slightly larger (233 gram) and fortunately still alive!
Once home with mother and puppy, we had to wait and see what it would give. Night had given birth via Caesarean section and it was normal that she did not immediately have the mother feelings she would have had otherwise she had given birth normally .. she had fallen asleep and suddenly there was a puppy .. Both Night and Kleine were tired and dazed from the sedation and little one didn't want to drink at Night yet! Vet said he should definitely drink on Saturday morning.. Which seemed to go well during the day because Night did what she had to do and he drank from a bottle and then even the nipple suddenly went very bad in the evening! Around 11 am I got a message that Kleine had seizures.. I suggested to bring Kleine to me not knowing what I would do with it and if I would get him through.. But I already had 2 puppies with cleft palate 6 years ago got big with probe so I could certainly give little probe as well, hoping it had an effect! When the owner arrived here with a towel on her chest and took out Kleine I was shocked at how small he was.. I had never seen such a small puppy.. his weight had already dropped to 200 grams.. did a lot of exercise he no more. when giving the probe he didn't even swallow so it was a real gamble for me whether I was sitting correctly but better gambling than doing nothing I thought.. Around 4 am his owner left for home again Kleine had already had several attacks something what I had never seen! he became stiff as anything and after some rubbing everything went limp again and he started breathing again.. i didn't dare lose sight of him so i literally sat on the floor until morning staring at a cardboard box with a red lamp upstairs to be on time when he had an attack.. meanwhile he got his probe every hour and I gave him 1ml of milk!
Sunday morning Kleine stopped his seizures and he gained weight through the probe by evening he was strong enough to drink at nyssa's himself! What a joyous moment! After this it was my job to get my pups to drink and draw milk for Kleine so that he could drink effortlessly every 2 hours and later every 3 hours!
Het waren 6 helse weken maar Kleine heeft het overleeft en doet het nu goed! Hij woont nu bij zijn moeder en hij heeft zelfs een halfbroertje (Thay) van mijn nest als beste vriend!
